Our Story
Our story is one of adventure, resilience, and a deep connection to the maritime world. We’ve sailed around the world 1.5 times, traversed the enchanting European canals, and worked on commercial vessels across the globe. Our experiences have shaped not just our skills but our very understanding of what it means to be part of the maritime community.
Marine Rescue Skippers
As former marine rescue skippers, we’ve navigated some of the most challenging waters and have been at the helm during critical rescues. Our time spent teaching at TAFE and running our own training business has allowed us to share our knowledge with countless students, helping them to gain the skills and confidence needed to navigate the seas safely.
Award Winning
Our dedication to training and education hasn’t gone unnoticed. We run an award-winning business and have received recognition as trainers, highlighting our commitment to excellence. But our story doesn’t end there. We’ve also ventured into the world of writing, winning awards as authors for our best-selling memoirs.
Memoirs and Training Manuals
Our books, “Of Foreign Build – From Corporate Girl to Sea-Gypsy Woman” and “This Is It – 2 Hemispheres, 2 People, and 1 Boat,” capture the essence of our journeys, blending adventure with personal growth. Although not nautical, our memoir “A Standard Journey – 5 Horses, 2 People, and 1 Tent” offers a glimpse into another side of our lives, sharing the tale of a unique journey with five rescued horses along part of the Bicentennial National Trail in Australia.
