To drive a powered vessel for recreational purposes on NSW waterways at a speed of 10 knots (18.5 km/h) or more, you need a general boat driving licence.
Everyone who needs a boating licence and PWC licence in NSW. Whether you have boating experience or everything boating is new to you, we have designed our courses to achieve your licence as painlessly as possible!
With two experienced trainers at your disposal, we ensure that everyone receives the type of training they need on the day, to make it an enjoyable, immensely worthwhile. You will leave us feeling a sense of achievement and have a wealth of knowledge.
Learners have to be a minimum age of 12 years old to obtain a licence in NSW. Students 12-16 can achieve a young adult licence with just a few restrictions.
A general boat driving licence is a minimum requirement if you’re driving any vessel for recreational purposes at 10 knots (approximately 18.5 km/h) or more, on NSW waters.
To obtain your general boat driving licence with us, you’ll need to:
- Attend the theory training
- Successfully complete the general boat licence knowledge test (and PWC if required)
- Take your completed/signed off log-book to RMS (with your paperwork from us)
LOG BOOK: you can complete your log book before or after the course with us. Simply ask a friend or family member to take you out on the water three times and sign your book (as per the requirements detailed in the book). Signatory must have held a boat licence for more than 3 years and be over 18.
