Jackie has broken down very complicated content and presented it in a logical sequence. Well done!”

“Jackie is super, knowledgeable and very informative, great at explaining. Thanks for a wonderful weekend, I’ll be looking forward to your next course!”

“This session was FANTASTIC!!!”
“Thank you for such an enjoyable and comprehensive course.”
“The manual is fantastic!”
“Last week, I completed my five day RYA Day Skipper Practical with EastSail in Sydney. They say it is a prerequisite to have done their ten-week RYA Day Skipper shore-based course but I decided to sign up regardless. I was worried I wouldn’t know enough so I went through all my notes from your course beforehand and also read through the Tides handout that you produced. Well, I shouldn’t have worried! I knew as much as anyone else on the boat, and your little tricks like Can Dead Mean Vote Twice and CADET, and the rule of twelfths, meant that I could do passage planning with confidence. I think it was partly that we did so many practical things in the face to face course with you, and you really focussed on the important bits. It was so much better than having to tackle an online RYA course by myself, you presented things in a really straightforward manner, it was much more affordable, the notes are really useful to refer to afterwards, and I got to meet other women, sailors, too.”
“The confidence I have gained through their nav course has given me the strength to continue my dream of sailing. I cannot thank these forward-thinking women enough. Top marks to you both!”
“Thank you Jackie. An informative and comprehensive weekend with practical information and theory.”
“Very enjoyable couple of days. It’s a great opportunity to meet other women sailors – well done!
“So comfortable. A very reassuring, friendly and encouraging learning environment. I had a great time and learning experience – THANK YOU!”
“Great weekend, thank you Jackie. I came hoping to learn the basics of navigation. This has been exceeded, I feel so much more confident. A great group of girls too!”
“I learnt so much & met some lovely ladies. Great weekend all round.”
“Your training has helped me a) one day while fishing the drum canyons wide of Jervis Bay, out of sight of land we had a GPS unit fail and because of my navigational training
I was confident in picking a compass heading and making our way home safely. b) i have found just generally being able to read the weather helps in making decisions to go or not and when to head home.” Rob.G
“Without you helping us we would have never gone anywhere. It gave us the confidence to avoid danger and be proactive in situations. The value lies in recognition of potential dangers so that you avoid catastrophe. The skills you actually learn would probably save you.” G and J Mc.
“Learning all the symbols on the chart and now being able to identify ships on night watch has helped prevent close quarters situations onboard our catamaran.” M.B.
“We are definitely safer [on the water], now we know the deviation for our boat and how to apply it.” C.V.

“I feel much safer (and better equipped) knowing more of the navigational aids.”
“Loved your [navigation] course – going to make full use of it going to Noumea next month. M.G.
“…the information I received [from Jackie and Noel] was and is invaluable. Understanding how to navigate to a set destination, reading and applying wind, currents etc, weather conditions, avoiding hazards, ie collisions, running aground etc, maintaining a vessel to keep it shipshape, lights, ropes, man overboard and much much more. Very few days do I not learn something on the water as I see some crazy things happen as almost anyone can skipper boats of all sizes with nothing more than a standard boat licence and not really knowing much at all. The water, whether it be inshore or offshore can be a very dangerous place and the course I did set me up with a wealth of knowledge. I am a much better mariner for doing the navigation courses, learnt too many things to list and Jackie and Noel were excellent teachers. All boaties should do a similar course for the same reasons I have mentioned. Safe Boating All, Robert Johnson.
“Thank you so much! I appreciate the pace, different explanations and the fact that we worked together.” TM
“Good content, good size group, great company, good venue.”
“REALLY appreciate the ‘go slow’ delivery whilst my brain catches up. LOVE that I’ve got some homework to go over and knowing I’ve got access to be able to ask questions 5*.”
“Excellent Course. Huge content. Great presentation.”
“EXCELLENT course, learned a great deal which will increase my overall confidence on the water.”
* * * * * FIVE STARS on everything!!!
“Very knowledgeable and patient presenter. Lovely to feel that there was no such thing as a stupid question! I now have a sound platform to build further knowledge from.”
“Thank you Jackie for a very enjoyable, informative, well explained and hands on course. I loved every minute!”
“I thoroughly enjoyed you sessions.
I felt the interaction with other students on Zoom was really beneficial. Your explanations of the navigation process were easy to understand. The use of terminology was appropriate for our level of knowledge.”
So enjoyed the Navigation. Another positive for you in those sessions was you didn’t let the technology drive the sessions, so when it didn’t work you just moved on. Well done.”

I would highly recommend SisterShip Training if you want to get your Marine Radio licence. The training was well structured and very well presented in the on-line format used. Jackie provides a very professional service.

I’m doing SisterShip’s coastal navigation course… and wow! Absolutely loving the content, how she simplifies mariner concepts so well. I can now confidently navigate using paper charts, find my position and plot while sailing. I can passage plan, do all calculations manually if plans change and can read weather/tides/ swell and update ser & drift. From beginner to confident in such a short time. The proof is in the action, as I’ve sailed from Brisbane to Great Keppel island this season. The course has videos, a note book and practice exercises ensured it all sunk in. Thank you Jackie!Like

If you are looking to extend your boating knowledge, then I’d highly recommend the Sistership Training online courses. The steps and videos start from the basics and work their way up in to more complicated techniques, giving you the skills and expertise to be able to navigate, plan passages and analyse the weather. Brilliant.

Thank you so much. I am thrilled to hear our techniques are working. We’ve worked hard to think of individuals learning on line, step by step and what they need.

Relaxed informative and encouraging environment. Great manual, very comprehensive, and I feel follow up questions or contact after the course would be warmly received. You get the sense of “sisterhood” rather than some training school just after you fees.

I have attended and completed multiple online courses via Zoom with Jackie. Her extensive knowledge, teaching style and patience is outstanding. The required material is provided well in advance to ensure you are ready to proceed on the day when the course begins.

I have no hesitation in recommending SisterShip’s online training courses.1

The Sistership Training course was the perfect foundation for my RYA Offshore Yachtmaster exam. Jackie covers off all the relevant information in a clear and concise manner. The practice questions and examples were a great way of checking my progress and learning and reinforcing the things I’d learned. If I ever had any questions, Jackie was just a quick email. Brilliant value, great content. Highly recommended.

Jackie Parry is highly experienced and knowledgeable, a terrific trainer and a lovely person as well. I just completed my Marine Radio course and Jackie’s explanations, videos etc made it so much easier than trying to wade through all of the information in the manual by myself.
I have also previously purchased the “Cruisers AA” book by Jackie & Noel Parry which is an absolute goldmine, packed with essential information about everything to do with sailing for beginners as well as more experienced sailors. Then there is the excellent “Understanding Weather” book by Jackie & Noel, which is relevant to Australian conditions as well.
As soon as my budget allows, I hope to enrol in her accredited Coastal Navigation Course, which also includes Passage Planning, Weather and ColRegs, and I can’t wait to read all of Jackie’s other books as she has had such an interesting life.
If you are planning to do some courses, whether online, self paced or face to face, and especially if you are nervous, I highly recommend SisterShip Training. You will feel very comfortable learning with Jackie!1

Thanks Carol. I’ve been nervous about learning new things, so I remember that when I write the courses and deliver them. We all learn differently and I am thrilled my courses worked for you – see you in Navigation!

I recently completed the LROCP (Long Range Operators radio Licence) with Jackie Parry. I found the course to be very informative. Jackie was very friendly and made everyone feel comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble and even though we experienced technical problems on both ends Jackie remained calm and continued on regardless. The test wasn’t as bad as I had been imagining and recommend this to anyone wishing to gain or uprade there qualifications for Long Range Radio Licence. Thankyou Jackie for your helpResponse from the owner6 months ago
Thank you Sandra. We had some exciting challenges on our second evening. I have even more back-ups ready now just in case those technical gremlins visit us again – they didn’t beat us though- thanks for making it all fun.

I had the pleasure do do a navigation course with Jackie Party of Sistership Training and I found her not only very knowledgeable but also a great communicator. This is such an important quality not everyone has and I was blessed to learn from her! I had started navigation course with another organisation once but gave up half way trough because I could not follow at all. Navigation can be daunting but with Jackie it was so easy to learn! Thanks to her deliver style even complicate information is made easy to understand and learn. Very patient and attentive she has guided our group step by step, supported and encouraged us and made learning very interesting and effective. I am looking forward to do some more courses with her and highly recommend Sistership Training and Jackie Parry to anyone from beginners to seasoned sailors.Response from the owner6 months ago
Thanks Laura. I struggle when I am overloaded or I am not given the reason ‘why’ we do something – so I base my training on that and it seems to work. I am so pleased it worked for you – it was a pleasure having you join in and contribute so much.
