Recognising the growing interest of women in the maritime sector, Jackie identified the need for tailored guidance and mentorship to navigate the challenges faced by aspiring mariners.

The program, developed by SisterShip Training, heldn in the Bega Valley aims to boost awareness of the social and economic benefits of a career in trades, enhancing exposure to trade pathways for women, and creating a network of strong female trade ambassadors. With a focus on breaking down gender barriers and building confidence, the SisterShip CareerShip initiative provides a holistic approach to career development, encompassing understanding maritime career paths, training, hands-on experience on various vessels, and continuous support.
