Completing Your SROCP Radio Licence
To obtain your SROCP radio licence, you’ll need to complete an exam. The great news is that this certification lasts a lifetime—once you’ve passed, you’re permanently qualified.
We are fully authorised by the Office of Maritime Communications to conduct the assessment via video call, offering you a personalised, one-on-one experience. The exam has two parts:
Online Multiple-Choice Questions: You will have 30 minutes to answer 25 closed-book questions, and you need 18 correct to pass. Most of our students score in the 90%-100% range with our course.
Practical Assessment: During this part, you’ll work directly with your invigilator, covering VHF marine radio operations, including Digital Selective Calling (DSC), sending distress messages, and conducting radio checks.
Completing Your LROCP Radio Licence
To get your LROCP radio licence, you’ll need to pass an exam, and just like the SROCP, this certification lasts for life—no renewals required once you’ve passed.
The exam is conducted virtually via video call, providing you with one-on-one guidance. It has two components:
Online Multiple-Choice Questions: You will have 60 minutes to answer 50 questions in a closed-book format, and you need 35 correct answers to pass. Most students achieve a score in the 90% -100% range with our course.
Practical Skills: In this section, you’ll demonstrate your marine radio knowledge, including distress message broadcasting and radio checks. The HF radio course prepares you thoroughly for these tasks and gives you additional, valuable insights.
